First contact – Consequences – Unknown
Scenario format: Larp
Duration: 1-2 hours
Number of players: 5-10

At a remote listening post—LYSS-17, “Norrvakten”—a repeating pulse at 1420 MHz is tracked to an interstellar object in the solar system. Repeated measurements from separate telescopes confirm: the signal is artificial but the object’s nature remains unknown. A mixed council of operators, locals, and visiting experts gathers under local procedures to weigh risk, meaning, and duty, and decide what to do now.
What will you do with what you know? Who deserves to hear it first? Do you wait, escalate, or answer? What risks will you accept and what kind of people do you become if you choose to speak back?
A calm, freeform chamber-larp where conversation and presence carry the play. You’ll step into grounded roles (radio operator, local priest, journalist, pub owner, fisher’s representative, etc.) and bring those perspectives into an open deliberation. Expect shifting and difficult conversations as values collide, ethics vs. curiosity, faith and doubt in the same room. A minimalist “signal console” gives the players an opportunity to listen to the pulse. No prior science knowledge is required; the scenario meets you where you are, and the group sets the tone together.
