The Weather Report

Scenario format: Larp
Duration: 4 hours
Number of players:
6 – 12

This larp is about discussing the weather while not talking about important things. We all know how it works, most likely we’ve all been there. The scene-based narrative follows a life of one or two families (depending on the number of players) over several decades. In the earlier times, they all live together, but later children grow up and move away. The larp looks into how we create scripts for certain avoidance behaviours, questions them and hopefully inspires looking for love in things that don’t contain it.

About the author
Jana Romanova is a multidisciplinary artist inspired by misunderstandings. She works with performance and larp practices to discover gaps between what we say and do. She takes these breaches in communication as possibilities for being together, whatever that could mean. She’s been a larp designer for about 9 years before becoming “a serious person with no time for playing” for about a decade and then went back to larping and designing larp as her art practice. She is currently based in the Netherlands where she both facilitates larps in various artist-related spaces and also teaches larp and game design.
