The Abdication

A regular suburban family in the modern day — except for the patriarch’s belief that he is the rightful heir to the British throne, descended from Mary, Queen of Scots. Widowed many years ago, he now wishes to remarry — and to a “servant”, no less! Obviously, the only honourable thing to do is for him to abdicate and to pass his crown to one of his two adult children, who had been raised under this delusion. But should the title go to the indolent younger son, or to the elder daughter, now a Labour politician and somewhat ashamed of her “royal” heritage?

The larp is a family drama played over a three-course dinner. We’ll explore relatable family dynamics in the context of a very strange family.
